New Members Selected for the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee
WASHINGTON - The Internal Revenue Service today announced the selection of seven new members of the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee. The group serves as a public forum for discussion of Electronic Tax Administration issues and supports the goal of increasing electronic interaction between taxpayers and the IRS.
ETAAC is currently comprised of eight members, whose two-year terms end in December 2002. The addition of the seven new members will ensure continuity when the terms of the current members end. The new members are:
- Robert C. Boldt of Albany, New York. Boldt is the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Fleet Libris Information Solutions (FleetBoston Financial). During his tenure, Libris developed electronic filing programs providing processing alternatives that combine both paper and electronic submission options.
- Frederick C. Fisher of Denver, Colorado. Fisher is the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Revenue, which has implemented several electronic filing capabilities, including NetFile for Internet income tax returns, TeleFile and the Nationtax Online service for sales tax.
- Alfred M. Martiniello, Jr. of Rome, Georgia. Martiniello is the Chief Executive Officer of Universal Tax Systems, Inc. and has spent his career in the accounting and tax industry. He has had extensive, first-hand experience with the e-file program, both as an electronic return originator and as a software developer.
- Lisa M. Mascolo of Reston, Virginia. Mascolo is the Accenture lead partner for clients within the Department of the Treasury, working on operational planning and call center and ERP implementation at the IRS. Previously, Mascolo managed a program to develop and implement, for New Jersey, a tax administration system built around the taxpayer, rather than the transaction.
- Rick E. Oelerich of Davenport, Iowa. Olerich is the Owner/Partner of Oelerich & Associates PC, an accounting practice that maximizes the use of technology, from maintaining file copies and data in PDF format to electronic filing of all qualifying client returns.
- Thala T. Rolnick of Sun City, Arizona. Rolnick is the Tax Manager for a small CPA firm that provides services to small businesses and taxpayers and uses electronic filing.
- Kennon Walthall of Birmingham, Alabama. Walthall is one of the owners and founders of Nationtax, a web-based service that acts as a single point of filing and payment across all state and federal governments for businesses. Walthall helped develop the concept and strategically implemented the program.
The new members will participate in the next ETAAC working session, set for September 18-19, 2001.
