Advisory Group Gets New Members
WASHINGTON - Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Fred T.
Goldberg has announced the appointment of the 1992 Commissioner's
Advisory Group.
Commissioner Goldberg appointed 15 new members to a two-year
staggered term ending in 1993. Ten current members will serve their
second year in 1992.
The commissioner appoints new members from nominations
submitted by profesional organizations in the tax field, IRS
officials and others interested in tax administration. Members are
academicians, accountants, attorneys, business executives,
educators, small business representatives and government officials.
The members serve without compensation.
Commissioner Goldberg appointed Gene Wells, Esq. of Proctor &
Gamble Co. in Cincinnati as Chair of the 1992 CAG. Wells will
oversee the group's efforts to provide advice and counsel on
important goals in the IRS strategic business plan. Goals include
modernizing the tax systems, improving quality and reducing the
taxpayers' burden.
The advisory group will hold three meetings, open to the
public, on April 22 and 23, September 2 and 3, and December 9 and
10, 1992.
